We Need Volunteers!
FABSAA is seeking volunteers who want to utilize and
further develop their leadership, organization and communication skills for
board positions and committee assignments related to the annual conference
planning, membership drives, and more. Please contact Margaret Partyka
if you would like to volunteer for one of these assignments. Your qualifications are unique
and your input is valuable. We need your expertise!
We know these are tough economic times in the state of Florida. This past year
we have seen valued colleagues leave their institutions of higher education and
their volunteer positions in FABSAA for new higher-paid positions in other
states, and unfortunately, some of our colleagues have been victims of budget
cuts. When staff reductions occur, we know more training is needed for those
struggling to stay above water. FABSAA can help fill that need with our
upcoming annual conference. But, we need more volunteers to help us meet
our goals.
The Florida Association of Bursars and Student Accounting Administrators
(FABSAA) is a six-year old association created by volunteers working for or with
four year public, private and community college postsecondary institutions.
FABSAA is represented by 50 member institutions of higher education. This
organization specifically strives to improve communication and processes
which impact the Bursar, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Perkins and
Student Accounting departments in our member institutions. FABSAA offers us
the opportunity to share experiences, discuss opportunities and provides us
with a united front to effect positive change for our students. We have held
numerous well-attended, successful educational conferences and remind you
of the next one scheduled for March 25-27, 2009 at the Rosen Centre in
Orlando, Florida.
